Hong Kong (February 2, 2004) – Universal Music Publishing has signed to administer the library of Beyond Publishing Ltd. worldwide effective January 1 2004, announced Tony Yapp, Regional Director of Universal Music Publishing.
Beyond, Hong Kong’s most revolutionary and most enduring rock band, was formed in 1983. The band - comprising Koma Wong Ka-kui, Steve Wong Ka-keung, Paul Wong Koon-chung and Yip Sai-wing - released more than 20 albums. The catalogue contains best-selling hits such as “Paradise Far Away”, “The Sound”, “To Live Better”, “Thinking of You” and “Boundless Horizons”.
As a testament to the enduring popularity of the band and their music, the band recently held 8 sold-out concerts in Hong Kong and performed to capacity crowds in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur and Toronto.
In addition to administer Beyond Publishing, Universal Music Publishing also administer the rights to Kinn’s Music who co-owned the early works by Beyond, and all solo works by band members Steve Wong and Paul Wong.
